Biography
Public Movement sees itself as a performative research body that uses political actions in public spaces to examine the dynamics of public life, the regimentation, the exercise of power, and the formation of identity. Since it was founded in 2006 in Tel Aviv by Omer Krieger and Dana Yahalomi Public Movement has made an international name for itself through diverse actions in public spaces in, among other places, Kiev; Helsinki; Taipei; Graz; and New York. In REBRANDING EUROPEAN MUSLIMS as part of the steirischer herbst 2012 Public Movement explored the strategies of marketing and image formation that are inherent to the debate concerning Islam in Europe and they undertook the attempt to allocate these strategies to new practices and discussions. In 2015 Public Movement's solo exhibition NATIONAL COLLECTION will be shown in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
