A turntable and a stack of recordings. There's a story to each record. These stories are from hearsay, from research on the Internet, books and magazines, and from friends or the performers' lives. One record after another will be played and the story that belongs to it will be told. THE DJ WHO GAVE TOO MUCH INFORMATION examines how music permeates our personal experiences and social life. Pop songs influence how we understand love and work and how we imagine society should function. Created out of a passion for music, the performance shows how songs create subjectivity and change our perspective of the world in which we live.

Biography
In their performances, installations, public happenings, and practice-orientated research processes the interdisciplinary group PME-ART contrasts current paradigms with direct and simultaneously complex statement systems. The main concern of this group is to research and acknowledge uncomfortable, paradoxical, and destabilizing realities. The influences from music, dance, critical theory, philosophy, cinema, and visual arts never show directly, but rather constantly as being fragile and marked by personal approaches and perspectives. PME-ART looks for a proximity to the audience in its performances and in this way they want to activate a process of mutual acquisition of fragmentary knowledge. The works of this group, which is based in Montréal, have been shown in more than forty cities in Canada and Europe over the past sixteen years.
